Recording Industry

What is music all about, and why do we listen to it? Are people listening to music for the feeling they get when they hear it, the beat, the lyrics, or just because a certain artist sings it? The answer is a little bit of everything. Tons of people say that they love rap music, but how many of those people really know or even listen to the lyrics? If they did listen closely to the lyrics would they still enjoy the music as much? These are questions that hold a lot of weight and are very difficult to answer coming from a single source. Some of the things that are discussed in those types of songs are very serious matters. There are tons of issues varying from neglect, domestic abuse, violence, drugs and even more horrendous acts. Should these types of matters be in lyrics that we hear on the radio in our daily lives? Should children be exposed to these types of situations through song lyrics? It is wonderful that there is a label on compact disks showing that there may be explicit, but what about the radio? Sure on the radio there will not be swearing because it will be edited as such, but what about those situations that are still being explained?
