Music, MP3s & Mojo: Music Today

Music today is very persuasive. Music is part of basically everyone’s life today. People listen to music on the way to class, in the car and throughout their day. Even little kids request iPods and MP3 players as gifts. There is constantly new music every week, so people will never get tired of their favorite music, as they can always update their library.

Music downloading has definitely changed the music industry forever. The musical world began with records, tapes and then CDs, and now has advanced to MP3 files, which people can easily download and find online. While you can buy music on iTunes very easily, it does cost 1.29 for popular songs, and .99 for other songs that are not as popular. This price may encourage people to instead, download music using a program like LimeWire, or going to websites that offer music file downloads for free.

There are even websites on blog communities, like Live Journal, that offer music downloads. People join these communities, and by posting on the blog community, they can request music from others, or download songs others have posted online. There are also programs like Mojo, which allows people to download music off of other people's iTunes, once they download this program. As long as people have Mojo, they can view other people's iTunes in their close vicinity. Things like these keep artists from making the full amount of money that they should, but people are always going to download music, and find new ways to access free music online. Since millions of songs are already out on the net, stopping music downloads would be rather impossible. However, the quality of the music on the internet may not be the best, which also may encourage people to buy music off a site like iTunes.
