Movies

Like any other form of art, movies are meant to inform, entertain, or have another very specific purpose. The director and actors, as well as the production staff and writers all have something they want to say by doing the movie. A movie becomes significant when we can relate to it, or take something away from it.

Movies that are produced solely for entertainment are hard to take anything away from, and are strictly used to distract oneself for a few hours. When a movie is scripted to have a profound meaning, that an audience can relate to, it becomes significant. Not every movie has significance in our lives, and even fewer have significance to a large audience. It is so hard to make a movie that speaks to a large group of people in the same way. Most movies get harsh reviews and even one with a very profound ideology can be criticized and misunderstood.

With that said, movies are significant because we can relate to the plot and characters. We often sympathize or empathize with the characters in the stories.
