Movies

Why are we so attracted to watch movies?
Why would anyone possible want to sit around for at least an hour and half and just stare at a screen? The answer is to get away. Movies have this amazing way of taking a person away from reality and living in a world that's interesting and worry free. An example of this phenomena happened in the 1930's during the time of the Great Depression. Walt Disney, a huge animation figure during the time, came out with the first sound cartoons and the first feature length film (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs). His cartoons and movies gave the general public an outlet from their harsh lived during the terrible time of the Great Depression. People who had very little money still payed to go out and see movies because it was a way to get away from the financial hardships they did not want to think about at home. Today during the economic recession, the same thing is happening. Many are looking for a way to just go to the theater and get away and movies are a cheap and easy way to get that goal.
