Movies would be obsolete if they lacked any significance in our lives. Would we willingly spend around ten dollars to simply enter the theater? Probably not. In addition, would we spend about fifteen dollars to purchase a DVD? On one hand it is a more understandable way of seeing a movie, as you can watch it over as many times as you would like, however it is still rather expensive.
Movies have a sort of quality to them that makes them special in everyone’s lives. They might give one a nostalgic feeling. Disney movies may take one back to their childhood. They could even make someone believe in magic, dreams and wishes. Films allow one to dive into another world and leave this life behind. Movies allow us to take on the lives of the characters and return home the same person that they were when they left home. Movies can make us feel better about ourselves, they can make us cry, laugh and be angry. We can learn things about the world, ourselves and even other cultures and people. The movie industry is certainly a unique industry and has a tight hold on our lives.
