Music. Plain And Simple.

Music is very persuasive. Everyday music is played in almost everyplace we go. People choose favorite bands or artists because they believe in the words or music that they are playing

I know that for me I listen to music all day everyday – except for class of course. Without music my days are quiet or full of noise I just do not want to hear.

With music, people are able to escape into another world. Whether it is to relax, to focus, to get pumped up before a game, or to release emotions, music is an escape for everyone.

The inventions of Napster, Limewire, Frostwire, and etc. have all severely damaged the music industry. People are illegally downloading artists’ songs for free instead of paying for the newest album.

By getting music for free, the music industry is not making the profits they would like to be. Also, artists will not get the credit they deserve for their tracks. The music charts are based on record sales, so if people are illegally downloading the music the record sales are not accurate.

Because of this new trend of downloading music, companies like Apple and Rhapsody have offered downloadable songs. However, there is a price. Apple sells songs for $1.29 a song, while for Rhapsody you can buy a subscription for a fixed cost and download as many songs as you want.
