Technology dependence is an addiction

Technology dependence is an addiction to technology.

Technology impacts my daily life drastically. As I do my homework, I’m constantly finding
myself multitasking by surfing the web, going on facebook, and talking or text messaging on my cellphone.

I also find myself always on my cellphone when I have nothing else to do, and even in class. As a result of this, I tend to pay less attention in class than I should be.

This type of dependence reduces face-to-face relationships with others since they don’t have to be around each other to discuss things.

Although technology can be distracting and extremely addicting, it can also be quite helpful. Students who have to do research, create presentations for class, or write papers get a lot of assistance from computers and other technologies.

Workplaces also gain from technology as well. Instead of having file rooms, companies can store all of their files and important information in a computer that automatically organizes it all.

In the right doses, technology can be extremely useful. In overdoses, it can be addicting; or even lethal.
