Media Literacy

I feel like I understand most of the media that is around me in daily life.

In the generation that I was raised, technology was all around us.

I am constantly either on my cell phone, on the computer, watching TV or listening to the radio.

Everywhere I go I am surrounded by the media.

Although this may seem a little bit obsessive, it seems perfectly normal to my generation because that is what we were raised knowing.

If it weren't for the media, I would not be able to stay connected to my friends and family as easily as I do now.

With new technologies such as Skype, one can actually video chat with someone in a different country for free.

I believe that the media is what keeps all societies connected,

It is much easier to send someone a text message rather than having to send them a letter.

The economy desperately needs the media.

If it weren't for the media, many companies would have gone out of business because of the lack of advertising.

After reviewing how much I truly am surrounded by the media, I think that I will try to set a certain amount of time aside each day to just relax and be on my own, without any technologies.
