If ebooks take off then the hard copies of books will slowly go extinct. The ebook will continue to evolve and bugs will be fixed until they are to the point where they can travel anywhere. Then the hard copy will go away.
If they take off, it will be like what CD’s did to the cassette and what the mp3 did the CD. The cassette and CD are still around, just slowly becoming less popular just as books. The hard copy will never disappear all together they will just become harder to find and it will be rare to see.
Blockbuster books will continue to fuel the market, it’s just they will be electronic instead of hard copied. Publisher Houses will evolve with the books finding a new way to control the books online just the same way the music industry does with its music.
