Music can be persuasive at times, and can have positive and negative interpretations. For example, rappers singing about drugs, sex and disrespecting woman can have very persuasive lyrics which lead to young children believing that’s how they should live their lives. On the other hand, there are many different types of music that have a positive message and cheers people up in their everyday lives.
Downloading music has changed the industry and how we listen to music dramatically over the years. We have gone from purchasing records many years ago, to now buying any song you want online with the click of a button. Even though it is extremely convenient, it has taken away some of the excitement of buying new music. Growing up I remember how excited I would be having my mother take me to the local CD store. However, now with the new world of iTunes, I haven’t purchased a CD in years. There is also the issue of illegal downloading, which has put many companies out of business. Overall, the music industry has changed dramatically over the years for the better and the worst.
