Why companies need Good PR

For large companies, a good public relations department is necessary for success. When companies make mistakes that tarnish their public image, this department acts as sort of the 'clean up crew' for the company. For example, when celebrities make poor decisions and get caught, their Public Relations manager quickly springs to action to try and clean the celebrity's image.
A good public relations devision is key because it acts as the gateway between the company and its corporate offices and the general public or the consumer. Without this buffer, many people would lack the means to representation in these large companies, and these large companies wouldn't be able to tailor their advertising campaigns to the general public as well.
