The New News: Blogs and the Internet

Recently the news has been more frequently reported using the Internet. This technological advance has allowed people to read and check the news whenever they feel the need. They no longer have to wait for their paper to be delivered or for the 6 o’clock news to be on.

With blogs, people are able to create their own news. Some companies have blogs to inform their followers. For example, an article about the SeaWorld trainer being killed by a killer whale contained a quote from the SeaWorld Corporation’s blog.

The Internet has made news on demand possible. All people have to do is go to CNN, Fox News, New York Times, or USA Today’s websites to find out the latest information about what is happening in the world.

With these new technological advances, news is reported in a whole new way. On the television news, the anchors now say things along the lines of “for more information log onto out website.” This shows that the websites on the Internet has more information that the 6 o’clock news is giving you.

Finally, the Internet allows no limitations; therefore the amount of information provided is endless. On television, the news is only allowed a specific amount of time; therefore they cannot pack in all the information for every story.
