Radio:Never Obsolete

Radio today comes in many forms and can be accessed almost anywhere. It can stream from a website, through a stereo and some mp3 players. Radio is not a dying breed in any way. If it were to become obsolete, how would we learn about new artists other than learning through word of mouth? Radio is an important marketing ploy for artists and record companies, as it basically sells albums and songs. If someone hears a song they like on the radio they would be more likely to purchase the song or even the entire album than if the song was never heard. If it weren’t for the radio, the silly talk show hosts and the ability to call in to request a song, much of the most popular names and music that are known would not be. If it weren’t for radio we wouldn’t need an iPod capacity that holds 40,000 songs. The radio will never be something we could forget.
